To support its expanding programs, TreePeople is exploring new funding streams in 2010 and beyond. TreePeople seeks a new employee to create marketing/development materials to assist in the solicitation of corporate sponsorships.

TreePeople is a 36-year-old, highly respected and loved non-profit organization, dedicated to inspiring personal responsibility for the urban environment in Los Angeles, and sharing our work as a model for the world. TreePeople works in a team environment, and staff members sometimes take responsibility for a functional area as well as cross-functional initiatives or projects. Marketing and Fundraising activities can fall into this category, requiring close coordination with staff members from other departments. Being in very casual, natural surroundings, while maintaining high professional standards, is an important part of the organization's culture.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Market and develop sponsorship packages for TreePeople's annual event, An Evening Under the Harvest Moon, and first ever Mothers Day Event
* Oversee creation of marketing materials to promote fundraising events and other funding opportunities
* Work with Park Events Coordinator to plan Harvest Moon and Mothers Day events and coordinate sponsor and donor needs
* Identify sponsorship opportunities for other TreePeople events, including corporate team building days at the park

SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Coordinate with Director of Grants for cross-over with corporate foundation support
* Maintain records of contacts, solicitations and meetings through TreePeople's CMS database
* Other responsibilities and tasks as required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
* College degree with a minimum of three years experience in development and/or marketing
* Relationship and diplomatic skills with individual donors and the business community
* Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
* Experience with event or project management desirable
* Computer literate; familiarity with CMS and development databases helpful
