Deadline: June 5, 2009
The National Forest Foundation (NFF) was established by Congress to support the USDA Forest Service in its management of America's National Forests and Grasslands. The Foundation's Matching Awards Program provides challenge cost-share grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. to engage in on-the-ground conservation and citizen-based monitoring initiatives directly benefiting National Forests and Grasslands.
Priority is given to projects in the areas of community-based forestry, watershed health and restoration, wildlife habitat improvement, and recreation. All grants require at least a one-to-one cash match through non-federal donations. Pre-proposals are due by June 5, 2009.
