Deadline: November 1 (annually)
Win a trip to Washington, DC for one of your volunteers!
The Alliance for Community Trees (ACT) is pleased to announce it is accepting nominations for Volunteer of the Year. This is an opportunity for ACT members to share inspirational accounts of volunteers in action and have them gain national recognition for their local contributions! This award is open to any individual (board member, community organizer, pro bono consultant, etc.) whose volunteer efforts have made a contribution to urban forestry by improving community trees and the neighborhoods which they are in.
We seek volunteers who model the ideals of stewardship, giving, professionalism, and leadership. We encourage all ACT members to take advantage of this opportunity to nationally recognize outstanding local volunteers.
Every nominee will be recognized as a Volunteer of the Year semi-finalist, and receive a certificate in honor of their service. In addition, one finalist will be featured in ACT materials and receive the Volunteer of the Year Award, which includes roundtrip airfare and lodging to meet with his/her Representatives in Washington, DC.
ACT members may submit as many Volunteer of the Year candidates as they wish. ACT will announce all finalists just after NeighborWoods Month, and the Volunteer of the Year at the Annual Meeting.
Photographs of the individuals volunteering in action are encouraged (but not required) and may be emailed to ACT (jared@actrees.org), but candidate nominations must be submitted online.
Nominate your Volunteer of the Year.
