Deadline: January 26, 2010
AmeriCorps National grants are made directly by the Corporation for National and Community Service to public or private nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, government entities within states or territories, Indian tribes, and consortia of the aforementioned. This year, applications addressing one or more of the following priority areas will receive special consideration: education, healthy futures, opportunity for the economically disadvantaged, veterans, and clean energy/environment.
The total funding available for these grants will be set by Congress through the appropriations process now under way. If the president’s fiscal year 2010 budget request is fully funded, the agency anticipates approximately $363 million in total funding to be available for new, re-competing, and continuation grants in all the AmeriCorps state and national grant categories.
This fall, AmeriCorps National will host conference calls to provide technical assistance to organizations and Indian tribes interested in applying for AmeriCorps grant funds. The conference calls will address the application requirements for all the AmeriCorps National Grant Opportunities.
A list of call dates and instructions for participating are available at the AmeriCorps Web site: http://www.americorps.gov/pdf/09_0918_nofa_ac_tta.pdf
