Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program

Deadline: August 1, 2011
Do you have an idea for a local conservation and outdoor recreation project, but need assistance to move that vision into reality? The mission of the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program if the National Parks Service is to assist community-led natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation initiatives. Our staff help on a variety of natural resource conservation and outdoor recreation projects including multi-use trails, single- purpose trails, greenways, water trails (also called blueways), river corridor conservation, land protection, and park planning.

Eligible applicants are state and local agencies, tribes, non-profit organizations, and citizens’ groups. Federal agencies, including the National Park Service, may apply only in collaboration with a non-federal partner. Applicants should discuss their project with RTCA staff before applying for assistance. It can be helpful to schedule an advance field visit by our staff to best understand how RTCA can be of assistance.
