Tom’s of Maine’s “50 States for Good” Program Grant

Deadline: June 21, 2011
50 States for Good is a national initiative to support the goodness behind grassroots community projects, and we need your help! Six organizations will share in our $150,000 sponsorship fund, including one organization that will be given $50,000.

To submit a project for consideration, an individual must be an official representative of a nonprofit organization registered for operation as a 501(c)(3), in good standing, in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Tom’s of Organizations must work on projects, with the help of community volunteers, that relate to “environmental goodness, healthy human goodness, or animal goodness.” Nonprofits must have an operating budget of less than $2MM. Individuals who wish to seek funding for their community projects are encouraged to work directly with a local nonprofit.
A panel of experts will select twenty finalists based on a range of criteria, including use of community volunteers, ability to get the project completed, and community impact. The six winners will be determined by a public online vote starting in early August.
