Toyota 100 Cars for Good

Deadline: March 21, 2011
Toyota wants to salute do-gooders by giving 100 cars over 100 days to the organizations that could really use a new set of wheels. And voters like you decide who gets a new ride every day.

You can apply to give your nonprofit a shot at a new Toyota starting March 7, 2011. Don’t wait long, applications are only open until March 21 or until we get 5000 applications, whichever comes first. To apply, you need to be part of a 501(c)(3). You just need to log into your Facebook account, submit some information, including a brief mission of your organization and how you’d use a new Toyota to continue doing good for your community.
Starting March 25, an independent panel of six socially conscious judges, including experts in the world of philanthropy and nonprofits, will review the most compelling applications. Each application will be judged and 500 organizations will be announced as finalists on or around April 11.
After the finalists are announced, each organization will receive details about when they will be up for a vote, plus a toolkit to help them tell voters why their organization needs a car. Finalists will have from April 13 to April 28, to create their profile using videos, photos and text. Leading up to the date of their vote, finalists will work to rally support and get voters excited about giving them a chance to win a brand-new Toyota.
Starting May 9 through August 16, it’s the voters’ turn to do their own good deed by voting for their favorite stories and causes. All voters have to do is log into their Facebook profile and use the 100 Cars for Good app to vote for one of that day’s five nonprofit organizations. Each day, the previous day’s winner is announced and a fresh batch of five nonprofits will be ready to compete for votes. Vote once a day because each vote counts and each day brings another new car to another deserving organization.
