Wubbzy Goes Green

Deadline: February 5, 2010
In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, Wow Wow Wubbzy is going green. This April and May, children’s television character Wubbzy will help kids learn about the environment and plant trees in schoolyards and playgrounds. Wubbzy is teaming up with Alliance for Community Trees to provide mini-grants of $500-$1,500 in support of ACT Member projects taking place in April or May. This is a great way to enhance or expand your Arbor Day and Earth Day projects involving youth.

The grant is to support local nonprofit organizations for tree-planting activities taking place at preschools, primary schools, and early childhood education centers. The events must take place in April or May 2010 and involve preschool or primary-school children. Integration with Earth Day/Arbor Day events and promotions, as well as co-sponsorship of events with other funders is encouraged.
In addition to mini-grants, recipients will also receive Wubbzy activity sheets and the opportunity for a personal visit from Wubbzy himself.
