120 Years of Trees at Tybee Follow-up

April 4, 2008
Tybee Island, GA
There will be a follow-up activity to the “120 Years of Trees at Tybee” tree planting held at Tybee last fall in coordination with National NeighborWoods. Patrick Grant, Savannah Tree Foundation’s Program Director, has set up an installation day and time for the Tybee Island gator bag installation at Jaycee Park, where the tree planting was last fall.

Savannah Tree Foundation received as grant from the Trustees Garden Club of Savannah to purchase and install gator bags for these trees, which are subject to harsh wind and weather conditions being so close to the beach. The gator bags will help ensure the trees we planted last October have a higher success rate.
The gator bag installation will take place at 10:30am at Jaycee Park. Some of Tybee Island’s Department of Public Works employees will also attend and help out, but volunteers are welcome.
