2009 NACo Annual Conference and Exposition

NACo invites proposals for educational workshops for its members and guests at the 2009 Annual Conference and Exposition. Consistent with its mission to provide its members with educational programs designed to meet the challenges of public leadership in the 21st century and, ultimately, to improve the quality of life for county residents, NACo will schedule forty 75-minute educational workshops in Nashville. Deadline: April 17, 2009.
Consider the following when preparing your proposal:
* Audience: Elected and appointed county officials representing counties diverse in population, resources, cultures, and political perspectives. Ideally, each workshop should attract between 75-100 participants.
* Topics: Fulfilling its mission to its members, NACo regularly solicits timely and insightful education in the areas that continually challenge elected county officials:

  • Community and Economic Development
  • Health, Human and Justice Services
  • Homeland Security and Public Safety
  • Environment, Land Use and Quality of Life
  • Leadership: Vision, Management and Governing
  • Support for NACo’s “Restore the Partnership” and current legislative initiatives
