Finding Markets for Urban Wood Waste

February 13, 2008
National Webcast
As towns and cities continue to grow there are increasing volumes of wood that are being generated from the care and maintenance of urban trees and forests. In many cases, the disposal of the wood can be costly to companies and landowners. This is especially true now with more areas restricting open burning and what is allowed in landfills. However there are opportunities to take these wood wastes and find uses and potentially profit from them.

Presented by Charles W. Becker III, Utilization & Marketing Manager, Virginia Department of Forestry, this program will discuss some of the concerns that need to be addressed and opportunities that exist to better utilize our urban wood resources.
