Register for NeighborWoods Month 2009

October 1-31, 2009
National NeighborWoods Month is a united campaign to celebrate trees and raise awareness for the value of urban forests. During October, ACT member groups across the U.S. will engage thousands of volunteers in stewardship events and educational programs, communicating a shared message that trees are essential to the health and livability of communities.

We invite everyone to join us in this effort! Also check out the NeighborWoods Month website, filled with free downloadable tools, templates, and resources. The NeighborWoods Month Planning and Promotion Kit makes it easy for anyone to stage an event to help their local urban forest.
Alliance for Community Trees believes that all people deserve the benefits trees provide. Under the banner of NeighborWoods Month, we hope you’ll join with us to bring new attention to fact that Trees Make Good Neighbors.
Last year, NeighborWoods Month staged 412 events in 134 cities, engaging over 30,000 volunteers in hands-on service to care for city forests. We encourage you to share this year’s event tools with your community partners to expand your city’s celebration of NeighborWoods Month in 2009.
