The Boston CarbonPlus Calculator will help you calculate your local impact on the environment and show how you, with small changes, can make Boston greener. After calculating your impact a mechanism is provided so that you can offset your emissions by purchasing Boston Green Certificates. Developed in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and based on the structure of a calculator by U.S. EPA, the web-based calculator includes features such as local action opportunities and specific ways offset funds can be used. The funds acquired through the Boston CarbonPlus Calculator are used to retrofit older buildings to make them more energy efficient, to install solar panels on city buildings, and to plant trees.
