Urban Forests & Political Ecologies

The first of its kind, this international three-day conference will cover a wide range of issues related to urban forests, trees, and green spaces from political ecology perspectives. It is designed for students, faculty, practitioners, community members and artists who are interested in enhancing their understanding of the various narratives that shape urban ecologies.

Panel Presentations

On Thursday and Friday April 18-19th, 2013, seven panel discussions will be held. Panels will include: academic paper presentations, student presentations, practitioner case studies, and artistic reflections. There will also be one breakout session per day hosting many other international speakers.

Field Tours

On Saturday, April 20th, 2013, field tours will be held at the Humber Arboretum & Centre for Urban Ecology and of the acclaimed Alternative Campus Tour at York University.
