December 11 and 18, 2008
Arbor Day invites you to join them to learn about tree canopy expansion as an urban air quality improvement strategy. The Urban Trees = Clean Air Workshop is divided into two midday 1.5 hour sessions starting at 1pm EST.
The first half of a two part webcast series will include presentations focused on 1) the health benefits of improved air quality and 2) canopy expansion as an innovative measure in air quality planning. A second follow-up seminar will be held a week later. The second seminar will include presentations focused on 1) the urban heat island effect and 2) the California Clean Air Tree Planting Project.
These events are sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation, Center for Chesapeake Communities, and the U.S. Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program.
